Recently, the Hydrology and Water Resources Survey Bureau of Jingmen City, Hubei Province issued a blue warning of low water. In view of the fact that the worst drought in the past 10 years has occurred in autumn, winter and spring, and the water storage is seriously insufficient, there are 395 reservoirs in Jingmen City, and all 13 large and medium-sized pumping stations are turned on, with a cumulative drainage of 180 million cubic meters. The management office of the third main canal of Zhanghe Reservoir opened the floodgate on May 14th, with a maximum flow of 25 cubic meters per second. All localities use their own water sources and backbone irrigation areas to ensure that farmland within the scope of irrigation control should be irrigated. The meteorological department also implemented artificial precipitation enhancement in time.
At the same time, in terms of water storage and water conservation, Shayang County seized the favorable opportunity of rising water level of the Yangtze River, and replenished 40 million cubic meters of water to Changhu Lake through the Shiqiao River Hub of the Hanjiang River Diversion Project to raise the water level of Changhu Lake to meet the irrigation demand of 200,000 mu of farmland around the lake. Villages and towns around the Han River promptly grabbed the passenger water from the Han River, which ensured the irrigation of farmland around the river. Zilingpu Town, Dongbao District uses a fixed pumping station to pump idle water from Jiudugang River and Jianjiachong River to replenish reservoirs and ponds, with a total of 1.2 million cubic meters of drought-resistant water.
At present, the Water Resources and Lakes Bureau of Jingmen City, Hubei Province has set up five working groups to go to the grass-roots level to learn about the water situation, agricultural conditions and drought, supervise and guide the implementation of local responsibilities, organize and launch, project scheduling, etc., carry out technical guidance, and coordinate irrigation water supply.
